3. Jodhaa Akbar- 2008

As the name justifies, the movie revolves around Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar and Rajput Princess Jodhaa Bai’s love story. The music was given by the legend A. R. Rahman. It had larger than life sets. Though the movie was banned in some parts of the country owing to its story; however, it received commercial and critical success. The 16th-century love story won many awards, including Filmfare award, IIFA, and Guild awards.
4. Bajirao Mastani – 2015

The magnum opus set the box office on fire with its stellar cast and niche story that was based on the Maratha Peshwa Bajirao’s real life. It was also amongst the highest-grossing film of 2015 that broke many records. The movie has real-life couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in a pivotal role. It received 7 national awards.
5. Padmavat – 2018

The epic periodic drama film went on to break many Box office records. Though the movie was banned in some parts of Rajasthan however, it was a blockbuster at the Box Office. The film was based on the queen Padmavati who committed Jauhar with other Rajput women to save her and her kingdom’s dignity from Alauddin Khilji. The film had exceptional cinematography that won many accolades, and the film was awarded on several platforms. The movie was formerly named Padmavati, but owing to many disputes, the movie was later named as Padmavat.
6. Manikarnika – 2019
